This electrode for capacitors comprises a conductive base and an electrode part that is electrically connected to the base. The electrode part contains a plurality of carbon particles that are configured from a first carbon material capable of absorbing and desorbing ions, and is provided with voids inside. The voids include first voids having diameters of from 0.2 μm to 1.0 μm (inclusive) and second voids having diameters of 0.05 μm or more but less than 0.2 μm. If VA, VB and M are respectively defined as the total volume of the first voids, the total volume of the second voids and the volume of the electrode part per unit weight of the electrode part, the value of (VA × VA)/(VB × M) is larger than 0.022. |
