The material (5) has an indicator unit detecting blood in animal urine by color change in a cat toilet (1). An intersperse payer in a container scatters urine on a cat litter layer (2). The indicator unit is provided with a granular and strewable support material. The support material is selected from a group of clay minerals such as bentonite, sepiolite and Palygorskit, a group of organic materials e.g. cellulose and/or substances lignin-containing and paper, timber or straw. Grain size of the support material is in the range of 1-6 mm. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) an indicator unit (2) a cat toilet.
