The present invention provides an endoscope system that can rapidly detect the occurrence of suture failure. A large intestine that has been cut away due to the removal of a tumor is sutured by means of a suture member (167). The sutured site is imaged. On the basis of image information obtained by means of the imaging, an oxygen saturation level image (180) is produced by imaging the level of oxygen saturation of the sutured site. The produced oxygen saturation level image (180) is displayed at a display device (14). In the case of suture failure, a low oxygen region (180a) would be displayed on the oxygen saturation level image. |
