The system (1) has a jacket tube (3) including a fluid inlet (41) for introducing fluid e.g. natural brine, into a fluid reservoir (4), and a fluid outlet (42) for discharging the fluid from the fluid reservoir. The fluid inlet or the fluid outlet is connected with a terrestrial heat production device (5). A sewer line (2) in a heat exchange region is formed from a cast iron pipe (20). The fluid reservoir forms an annular space around the cast iron pipe. The jacket tube is provided outside around the sewer line in the heat exchange region.
