PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent lack of air in a gas turbine when a fuel cell is started up so as to allow stable start-up, in a power generation system and in a method for starting up the fuel cell in the power generation system.SOLUTION: A power generation system includes: a gas turbine 11 that has a compressor 21, a combustor 22, and a turbine 23; a first compressed air supply line 26 that supplies compressed air, compressed by the compressor 21, to the combustor 22; an SOFC 13 that has an air electrode and a fuel electrode; a second compressed air supply line 31 that supplies at least part of compressed air, compressed by the compressor 21, to the air electrode; a control valve 32 that is provided in the second compressed air supply line 31; a compressed air supply device 61 that is connected to a side of the control valve 32 nearer to the SOFC 13 in the second compressed air supply line 31; and a control device 62 that, when the SOFC 13 is started up, closes the control valve 32 and drives the compressed air supply device 61. |
