PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polarizing plate capable of suppressing leak light that is generated at four corners of a liquid crystal panel by a heat cycle in which a high temperature and high humidity environment and normal temperature and normal humidity environment are repeated, in a liquid crystal display device.SOLUTION: The polarizing plate comprises: a first protective film; a polarizer; a second protective film; and an adhesive layer in this order. The first protective film has moisture permeability of 200 g/m/24 hours or less, and the second protective film primarily contains cellulose acylate. The adhesive layer has a creep amount of less than 100 μm in a creep test at 25°C, relative humidity of 60% and with a load of 1 kg for one hour. Contractive force of the polarizing plate in an absorption axis direction represented by the following formula (A) is 2000 N/m or less. Formula (A) contractive force of the polarizing plate in an absorption axis direction (N/m)=elastic modulus (GPa) of the polarizing plate in the absorption axis direction×|humidity dimensional change rate (%) of the polarizing plate in the absorption axis direction|×polarizing plate thickness (μm)×10. |
