PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact ultraviolet irradiation device using an ultraviolet light-emitting element such as an ultraviolet LED, which can irradiate a high intensity ultraviolet ray.SOLUTION: An ultraviolet irradiation device comprises: a light source for emitting an ultraviolet ray; and a light collector for collecting the ultraviolet ray emitted from the light source. The light source is a modularized bar light source (110) comprising a cylindrical or polygonal columnar base body, and a plurality of ultraviolet light-emitting elements disposed on the side surface of the base body so that the optical axes of the ultraviolet light-emitting elements intersect the central axis of the cylindrical or polygonal columnar base body and an ultraviolet ray is emitted radially with respect to the central axis. The bar light source is disposed along a focal axis (121) of a long elliptical reflection mirror (120) so that the long elliptical reflection mirror (120) collects the ultraviolet ray emitted radially from the bar light source and irradiates the collected ultraviolet ray. |
