The method comprises mixing 65-75 wt.% of crushed carbon fibers with 25-35 wt.% of an organic binder, forming a shaped body, where cutting edges (17', 17'') are defined in the forming step, carbonizing the shaped body, optionally graphitizing the carbonized shaped body, and siliconizing the shaped body. The crushed carbon fibers have average length of more than 10 mu m, include cellulose fibers, and are made of a carbon-precursor material. The method further comprise pressing the shaped body. An independent claim is included for a tool.
