PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of suppressing the occurrence of image defects caused by vibration generated when a first gear for transmitting driving force to an image carrier and a second gear engaged with the first gear are driven.SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus comprises: an image carrier 2; a first gear 21 for transmitting rotational driving force to the image carrier 2; a second gear 104 engaged with the first gear 21 for transmitting the rotational driving force to the first gear 21; and a drive source 105 for rotationally driving the image carrier 2 via the first gear 21 and the second gear 104; a first holding member 101 for holding a rotational shaft of the first gear 21; and a second holding member 103a for holding a rotational shaft of the second gear 104. The relative position of the first holding member 101 and the second holding member 103a is variable. |
