PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for making uniform the adhesion of an alkaline metal forming the photoelectric surface of an image tube.SOLUTION: An image tube includes: a vacuum envelope 11 having a photoelectric surface 17 containing an alkaline metal, a plurality of acceleration focusing electrodes 18-21, and an output plane 15; an alkaline metal introduction tube 30 projecting from the glass enclosure wall 13 of the vacuum envelope 11, and forming an aperture in the vacuum envelope 11; vapor guide tubes 40 formed in one electrode and disposed at the aperture of the alkaline metal introduction tube 30 so as to face each other at an interval; and a flange 43 provided at the end 41 of the vapor guide tube 40 facing the aperture and extending along the glass enclosure wall so as to form a gap between the inner wall and itself. |
