LENS SUCKING/HOLDING METHOD, AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING LENS BARREL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suck/hold a lens without damaging a surface of the lens as much as possible even when the lens has no flange and to precisely manufacture a lens barrel by sucking and holding the lens to surely insert the lens into a mirror frame without inclining the lens.SOLUTION: A method for sucking/holding a lens comprises of the steps of: sucking/holding a convex surface 22 of a lens 20 to a tip opening 13 of a cylindrical suction member 10 having a hollow part 11 set to a negative pressure; providing an inner tapered surface 14 which the closer is to a tip 14a inside the tip opening, the larger an inner diameter is and peripherally contacting the outer peripheral edge part of the convex surface to the inner tapered surface at a position unevenly distributed in a large diameter end 14a thereof than a small diameter end 14b of the inner tapered surface when sucking/holding the lens; holding a space between the suction member including the inner tapered surface and the convex surface on an inner peripheral side from the position peripherally contacted; and inserting the lens and the following suction member having an outer diameter equal to or less than the outer diameter of the lens into a lens insertion hole of a mirror frame to incorporate the lens into the mirror frame.
