PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solar heat power generation plant which suppresses construction cost, can perform power generation even upon night or rainy day and can enhance the efficiency of power generation in the solar heat power generation plant, and to provide a control method of the solar heat power generation plant.SOLUTION: A solar heat power generation plant has a configuration of controlling solar heat power generation which generates power by supplying heat energy obtained on a heat receiving part 3S for power generation to a power generation device 5 via heat medium for power generation, and a configuration of collecting solar light to a heat receiving part 3A for heat storage by inclining at least a part of a heliostat 2 and supplying heat energy obtained on the heat receiving part 3A for heat storage to a heat storage tank 6 via heat medium for heat storage of a heat medium circuit 4A for heat storage to perform heat storage, when heat energy which exceeds a rated output energy of the power generation device 5 is obtained on the heat receiving part 3S for power generation.
