PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To search for a route to a destination.SOLUTION: A navigation device for guiding a route from a starting place to a destination comprises: communication means for communicating with a specific server; division acquisition means for acquiring link data from a server in a mesh unit, the link data having a plurality of ranks such that the degree of detail is lower in a higher rank whereas the degree of detail is higher in a lower rank, and each rank of the link date being composed of a plurality of meshes such that a higher rank has a larger mesh size whereas a lower rank has a smaller mesh size; storage means for storing link data acquired by the division acquisition means; local route search means for searching for a route from a starting place to a destination based on link data stored in the storage means; and display means for displaying a route searched for. The division acquisition means acquires link data in the mesh unit from a higher rank on a priority basis.
