PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tapered cuvette and a method for collecting magnetic particles.SOLUTION: A vessel 2 comprises: an open top part 20; a closed bottom part 18; and at least four tapered sides 4a and 4a'. A method for collecting magnetic particles 82 in fluid 80 is also provided. The method comprises the steps of: providing a magnet 66 and a vessel containing the magnetic particles in the fluid; attracting the magnetic particles to the magnet; and moving the magnetic particles with the magnet out of the fluid. The vessel also comprises a projection on an exterior surface of one side of the vessel.
