<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a joint cross type universal joint constructed to hardly cause damage such as crack in each bearing cup 11c even when an excessive load is applied between a pair of yokes.SOLUTION: A dome-shaped swollen part 20 swollen to the outer face side of each bearing cup 11c is provided on the center of a bottom plate part 15c of each bearing cup 11c. An annular protruded part 22 is provided on a portion of one of a front end face 21 of each shaft part 12 and the inner face of the bottom plate part 15c of each bearing cup 11c, around the opening of the swollen part 20. The front end face 21 and the inner face of the bottom plate part 15c are made to abut on each other at the front end of the annular protruded part 22. Even when a great thrust load is applied between each bearing cup 11c and each shaft part 12, great tensile stress does not occur on the center of the bottom plate part 15c, thus solving above issue.</p> |
