A ready-to-eat cereal product is made by cooking and toasting a mixture of particles of de-fatted soya bean and yellow maize, preferably in the proportion of about 1 to 3. According to examples, yellow corn grits and de-fatted soya bean flakes are cooked in water containing sugar, salt and malt extract, the cooked mixture is partially dried and allowed to stand for uniform dispersion of the moisture, the mass is granulated or cut into shreds, which shreds may be formed into small biscuits, and is finally browned in an oven. |
