PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the operation of an instrument by providing a user with indication of surgical events.SOLUTION: A single stroke endoscopic surgical clip applier is an apparatus 100 for applying surgical clips to body tissue and comprises a handle assembly 102 and a shaft assembly 104. The handle assembly 102 includes a trigger 108 and a drive bar, which is reciprocally translatable by the trigger on actuation of the trigger. The shaft assembly 104 includes: a housing; a plurality of surgical clips disposed within the housing; a jaw mounted adjacently to a distal end part of the housing; a pusher bar which is disposed within the housing and moves reciprocally between a proximal position and a distal position; and an advancement plate which is disposed within the housing and moves reciprocally between a proximal position and a distal position. |
