<p>This reflector (10) is provided with a main body (11) of spherical shape, and a plurality of conductor wires (12) protruding out radially from a center at the center section of the main body (11). The reflector (10) has a spherical shape overall, resembling a sea urchin or chestnut. At least some conductor wires (12) from among the plurality of conductor wires (12) induce radio waves that impinge while oscillating in a specific oscillation direction to oscillate in a direction different from the specific oscillation direction, reflecting them towards the impingement direction in which the radio waves impinged. A radar device on board an aircraft transmits radio waves that oscillate in a specific oscillation direction, and receives radio waves that oscillate in a direction different from the specific oscillation direction. In the event that the signal strength of the received radio waves is greater than a detection threshold value, the radar device determines that the reflector (10) is present in the direction in which the radio waves were transmitted.</p> |
