PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a management device recording a transaction between a casino and a player in real time and accurately acquiring a balance of the casino or of the player in real time.SOLUTION: The management device comprises: determination part for determining whether a chip is valid or invalid using chip identification information as a key; a casino chip database; and a journalization data generation part for generating journalization data corresponding to the transaction between the casino and the player. The casino chip database includes one record for one chip. The record includes a field for storing the chip identification information, and a field for storing valid/invalid state information representing a state whether the chip corresponding to the chip identification information is valid or invalid. The determination part determines the valid/invalid state information and updates it on the basis of the chip identification information that has been read by a readout device and is received via a communication control part. When the chip identification information has been read by the readout device, the journalization data generation part generates journalization data.
