An objective of the present invention is to provide a membrane switch having a novel structure whereby it is possible to obtain a signal corresponding to the amount of pressure applied thereto from without, and an application thereof. A first conductor part (1a) is disposed upon a first substrate (1). A second conductor part (2a) is disposed upon a second substrate (2). The substrates (1, 2) are layered, with a spacer (3) interposed therebetween, such that the conductor parts (1a, 2a) are facing one another with an interstice therebetween. An organic material (4), which exhibits piezoelectricity, is positioned in the interstice so as to either fill or leave gaps. Thus, an output signal corresponding to applied pressure can be obtained.
