The station (1) has a warehouse (2) for receiving goods, and a shelf system arranged with multiple storage levels. A client terminal (12) inputs an order for emptying delivery, and/or issuing of the ordered goods. A transport system applies/outputs the goods to a supplier lock (4) or at the client terminal and to operate shelves. A control unit controls the transport system depending on activities at a supplier lock and the client terminal. The client terminal includes an empties receiving station, and an interface is provided for communicating with a CPU.
