PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device capable of suppressing the degradation of display quality.SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device includes a liquid crystal display panel including a first substrate having a pair of first short sides and a pair of first long sides, a second substrate arranged to face the first substrate, and a liquid crystal layer held between the first substrate and the second substrate and displaying an image in an active area, a first polarizing plate arranged on the outer surface side of the first substrate and having a pair of second short sides longer than the first short sides, a pair of second long sides, and a first absorption axis in which an angle a1 formed with the second short side is smaller than an angle b1 formed with the second long side, and a second polarizing plate arranged on the outer surface side of the second substrate and having a second absorption axis. |
