PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition for the oropharynx having a component from a natural product as an active ingredient and being useful for improvement of sickness or diseases in the oropharynx.SOLUTION: A composition for the oropharynx comprises lysophospholipid. This composition can be a composition for the oropharynx in order for prevention, improvement or treatment of periodontal diseases, in order for prevention or improvement of infections in the oropharynx, and in order for enhancement or facilitation of barrier function of the oropharynx mucosa. The lysophospholipid is preferably lysophosphatidic acid or lysophosphatidylcholine.
