The method involves providing a partial drainage by ultrasound. A fibrous web (150) and a component e.g. wire suction box, of a machine are dewatered by the ultrasound. An ultrasound entry is made by extraction, heat or air flow. An excitation direction (120) of the ultrasound is orientated vertically to a machine direction (130) and effected over entire width of the fibrous web. A drainage device (110) is arranged in an area i.e. sheet forming device or press portion, of a production machine (100). An independent claim is also included for a drainage device.
