The present invention relates to an active air flap device for a vehicle and a fault diagnosis method, capable of diagnosing the failure in a sensor by using two position sensors (7, 9) and an abnormal state by a linkage mechanism (5) at the same time. Furthermore, the present invention prevents wrong diagnosis of a system failure when a flap (4, 6) is fastened by freezing or foreign substances.
