PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a traveling support device capable of appropriately determining whether it is necessary to avoid a detection object. SOLUTION: The traveling support device is provided with: image pickup means 20a and 20b for picking up the image of the front part of a vehicle; a feature point extraction means for extracting a feature point existing in an image based on the information of the image picked up by the image pickup means 20a and 20b; a movement information calculation means for calculating movement information including the moving direction and moving speed of the feature point; an object region extraction means for extracting an object region including the detection object based on the movement information; a relative angular speed calculation means for calculating the moving speed of the detection object viewed from the image pickup means 20a and 20b as a relative angular speed; and a determination means for determining whether or not it is necessary to avoid the detection object based on the relative angular speed.
