PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a substrate for an electrophotographic photoreceptor that prevents leakage during charging even when the substrate is made of aluminum or its alloy. SOLUTION: The substrate for the electrophotographic photoreceptor satisfies the following expressions: (1) 1.2μm≤Rmax(1)≤5μm; (2) 0.5μm≤Rmax(2)≤4m; and (3) Rmax(2)<Rmax(1), wherein Rmax(1) is surface roughness (the maximum height of a profile curve based on JIS B0601) of a center part in an axial direction and Rmax(2) is surface roughness (the maximum height of a profile curve based on JIS B0601) of an end part in the axial direction.
