An electric transportation vehicle charging device and a charging method thereof are provided. The electric transportation vehicle charging device comprises a charging unit which supplies a current to an electric transportation vehicle by being connected to an external AC power source; a current measurement unit which measures the supplied current; a voltage measurement unit which measures a voltage of a wire to which the AC power is inputted; a temperature measurement unit which measures a reference temperature before charging; and a control unit which controls the supplied current so as to prevent the temperature of the wire from exceeding the maximum permissible temperature based on the measured current and voltage and the reference temperature. The control unit calculates a resistance variation of the wire by using the measured current and a voltage drop before and after charging. |
