The present invention relates to genes participating in the extracellular transport of p-coumaryl alcohol from monolignol, which is an important component of lignin, and to a transgenic plant produced using the genes, and more particularly, to a composition including a gene which mostly participates in the extracellular transport of p-coumaryl alcohol and affects the lignin content of a plant, to a recombinant vector including the gene and to a transgenic plant using the recombinant vector in order to have an increased lignin content, and to a recombinant vector which lowers the expression of the gene and to a transgenic plant produced using the recombinant vector. Since the composition, the recombinant vector, and the transgenic plant of the present invention affect the transport of monolignol itself and change the content of lignin in plants, transgenic plants effectively having an increased or decreased lignin content can be produced. Accordingly, the composition and recombinant vector can be expected to be applied to a transgenic plant for wood having increased physical hardness and an increased lignin content, and significantly applied to the production of transgenic plants having reduced lignin content so as to be easily used for the production of biofuel or pulp. |
