The device (1) has a pulsating panel displaced in vibration by a drive (2) i.e. internal combustion engine. The pulsating panel is moved over a misplaced paving stone (5). A vibration plate (3) has a rearwardly opened recess (10) at the surface of the paving stone. Sand sliding over the paving stone falls into a joining section between the adjacent paving stones through the rearwardly opened recess during forward and reverse movements of the vibration plate. The vibration plate is arranged over the pulsating panel and formed from plastic or metal.
