<p>Â A fire fighting training system comprises at least one fire extinguisher 12, the/each fire extinguisher having an outlet nozzle (24, Fig 2) and at least one remote holding tank 14 containing a medium for use in extinguishing the fire (e.g. CO2, water, foam or powder). The/each tank and extinguisher are fluidly connected together by a hose 16, the/each hose extending between the outlet nozzle of the/each extinguisher and the holding tank and adapted to transfer the medium from the/each tank to the/each outlet nozzle upon activation of the fire extinguisher. A plurality of extinguishers may be in fluid communication with the same holding tank. The system may further comprise a pressurizing means 18 (for example a vessel containing a fluid such as carbon dioxide or nitrogen) adapted to force the medium from the holding tank directly to the outlet nozzle, and once the extinguisher is activated, propel the medium outward of the nozzle.</p> |
