PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electromagnetic flowmeter which can be installed on a metering pump in an easier manner compared with the conventional case. SOLUTION: An electromagnetic flowmeter 10 according to the present invention includes a threshold value comparison part 34 which judges whether or not the potential difference V between a pair of detection electrodes 23, 23 exceeds the threshold value Lv1. Depending on whether or not the potential difference V exceeds the threshold value Lv1, it can be judged whether or not a pulse flow achieves the electromagnetic flowmeter 10. By reversing the magnetic flux at the time of passing of the standby period T3 since the threshold cross timing tx when the potential difference V exceeds the threshold value Lv, one pulse flow can be collected for one pulse excitation period TP from the reverse of the orientation of the flux until the next reverse.
