[Also in Group XV] Microfilm 12 is mounted on a record card 1 by forming a depression 5 in the card of less depth but of greater area than the film, coating the depression with adhesive 6, punching a window 10 in the card of greater area than the image area of the film, placing the film in the depression with its emulsion face downwards, and pressing the film and card between a flat surface 16 and a die 18 so that the central part of the film is forced into the window 10 until the emulsion face 14 is flush with the lower face of the card, and the edges of the film flow outwardly and are stuck to the rim of the depression 5. A heating element 21 is provided on that part of the die 18 which engages the edges of the film. The cards 1 are of the kind which are perforated for sorting &c. in a machine.
