Feeding tube having echogenic tip

A feeding tube for insertion into the jejunum of a patient has a proximal portion, a distal portion, a lumen extending between the proximal and distal portions, and at least one aperture at the distal portion for passage of fluid material into the jejunum. An inflatable balloon disposed along the distal tube portion is sized and configured such that upon inflation the balloon expands outwardly for engagement with the interior wall of the jejunum. An echogenic material is disposed along the distal tube portion to provide an echogenic capability, wherein the tube portion is visible under ultrasound imaging.
