The present invention relates to a cosmetic composition that contains ginseng fruit extract as an active ingredient in order to whiten the skin. More specifically, the present invention relates to a composition that contains, as an active ingredient, ginseng fruit extract that has particular components and composition from the above-ground part of a ginseng plant so as to represent a skin whitening effect by controlling the production of melanin and alleviating pigmentation caused by ultraviolet rays.
