PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device preferable both for reducing a burden on a user and for providing the precision of a trace line. SOLUTION: A manual trace line-forming unit 224 forms a manual trace line in a manual trace cross-section according to the user's operation. An interpolation trace line-forming unit 226 forms interpolation trace lines in automatic trace cross-sections by interpolation using the manual trace line. The trace line-correcting unit 228 corrects the interpolation trace line based on the contour of an objective tissue detected in the automatic trace cross-section for every automatic trace cross-section. An additional cross-section selecting unit 220 selects an additional trace cross-section from among the plurality of automatic trace cross-section based on features representing effectiveness of the correction processing.
