A crystalline polyolefin, such as polypropylene, is stabilized with an organic compound <FORM:0910766/IV(a)/1> wherein R and R1 are aryl groups which may be substituted with alkyl, acyl or alkoxy radicals. Specified stabilizers are p,p1-di-(benzoylamino)-diphenyl-sulphone, p,p1-di-(naphtholamino)-di-phenyl-sulphone, p,p1-di-(p-ethoxy benzoylamino)-diphenyl-sulphone and p,p1-di-(p-methoxy benzoylamino)-diphenyl-sulphone. Calcium stearate may be included as an anti-acid agent. The compositions, which may be formed with the aid of a solvent, may be made into filaments, fibres or film.
