A liquid crystal display and a driving method thereof are provided to reduce the power consumption and improve the data charge characteristic. A liquid crystal panel(100) has an upper and a lower part dummy gate line(GL0, GLn+1) formed in the top and lower part of the display unit, a display unit in which the domain defined with the gate line(GL1~ GLn) of n and data line(DL1~ DLm) of m the pixel cell. A gate driving circuit(120) is formed on the liquid crystal panel and operates each gate line. A drive circuit(130) controls each gate driving circuit, supplies image signal to each pixel cell through the each data line, and supplies dummy voltage to each data line. |
