Data extracted from or related to a document is used to determine an action by a remote document repository storing that document. This may allow the reconciliation, validation or completion of transactions between users to take place, for example where an electronic invoice or proof of identity is sent. The extracted data may be metadata, entered at upload of the document, or associated with a document owner or delegate. Pattern recognition may be used to provide data related to likely future documents or transactions, providing for example a reminder alert, or reconciling a bill and a statement. Digital originals may be validated and a risk level associated. Documents may be uploaded from pcs, smartphones, kiosk, bank branches, email, third party websites, point of sale POS terminals or a government agency using scanners. |
