A powder dispensing apparatus (10) having a button assembly (11) and a container (12), wherein the button assembly (11) is removable from the container (12). The button assembly (11) comprises a button housing (16) and a button (17). The container (12) has a flow control valve stabilizer (18) with a flow control valve (19) extending through the flow control valve stabilizer (18) and into a dispensing opening (13) at the bottom of the container (12) to close the dispensing opening (13). Pushing the button (17) on top of the dispenser (10) into the button housing (16) will cause the flow control valve (19) to open the dispensing opening (13) to deliver as much of the ingredients in the dispenser (10) as the user desires. Releasing the button (17) will cause the flow control valve (19) to automatically close the dispensing opening (13).
