摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for suppressing heat dissipation of molten iron which does not require to install a large-scale facility, does not increase the cost of a heat insulating material, and does not give bad influence to the next step such as an increase in the amount of slag and an increase in MgO concentration accompanying the use of the heat insulating material. SOLUTION: The method for suppressing heat dissipation of molten iron includes the step of performing preliminary treatment in the order of molten iron desulfurization-molten iron dephosphorization. After the desulfurization treatment of molten iron, unslaked lime in a unit requirement of 0.3 kg/ton to 1.0 kg/ton is added to the surface of the molten iron after removing the slag used for the desulfurization treatment. In the next step of molten iron dephosphorization treatment, the amount of the unslaked lime charged as a surface coating agent is reduced from a predetermined amount of unslaked lime to be added.
