PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reel type game machine that properly utilizes freeze function to significantly entertain a player. SOLUTION: The reel type game machine includes: a first pause state generating means for generating a short freeze state that suspends a game function to advance the game for a first predetermined time; a second pause state generating means for generating, when the short freeze state is generated, a long freeze state that suspends the game function for a second predetermined time longer than the first predetermined time, after the short freeze; and a benefit giving device that gives a predetermined benefit to the player when the long freeze state is generated.
