The present invention concerns a method and device for reframing an image using a framing window, the method comprising a step for obtaining at least one layout area and a saliency map in which the saliency created by said at least one layout area has been removed. The method is characterized in that it further comprises a step for adjusting the position of the framing window in order to avoid any overlap of the framing window with said at least one layout area.
