<p>An image defogging method and system is disclosed. The image defogging method comprises: acquiring minimum intensity values corresponding to every pixels in a foggy image to constitute a local minimum intensity image of the foggy image, and selecting the largest values of the intensity values of R channels, G channels, and B channels of all pixels in an area, which is covered by a brightest area of a predetermined size in the local minimum intensity image, in the foggy image as component values of a R channel, a G channel, and a B channel of an atmosphere light value, respectively; acquiring a transformation image of the foggy image by transforming the foggy image with the atmosphere light value of the foggy image; acquiring a transmission map of the foggy image by edge -preserving filtering the transformation image of the foggy image; and acquiring intensity values of R channels, G channels, and B channels of every pixels in a defogged image by using the transmission map and the atmosphere light value of the foggy image and the intensity values of R channels, G channels, and B channels of every pixels in the foggy image.</p> |
