PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an indoor unit of an air conditioner in which both wing pitch sound and flapping sound are reduced while suppressing the deterioration of aerodynamic characteristics, by optimally arranging the positions of a rear guider and a cross flow fan to be closest. SOLUTION: In the indoor unit of the air conditioner, the shape of a closest part with the cross flow fan 25, continuously provided from a right edge to a left edge of the rear guider 28, is provided in almost parallel to the axial direction of the cross flow fan 25, at least two or more almost parallel proximity sections are provided whose positions are different with respect to the rotating direction of the cross flow fan 25, and the gap between the proximity sections is formed continuously.
