A tab for use in joining the end 1 of a web to the body of a web roll 2 comprises pieces 4, 5 joined by adhesive areas 6 and provided on their outer faces with adhesive areas 7, 8 for attachment to the undersurface of the web 1 and then to the outer surface of the roll 2. The area 7 extends beyond the web end to join the web to a running web 3, Fig. 2 (not shown). The adhesive used for the areas 6, Fig. 4, is of the heat setting, self-adhering or non-drying types, the areas 6 being arranged as shown to facilitate peeling apart of the pieces 4, 5. The adhesive on the outer faces of the pieces 4, 5 is preferably of the self-adhesive type and is covered by protecting sheets 9, 10 which also serve as tongues for pulling the end of the web to which the tab is applied about the roll periphery.
