The present invention relates to an apparatus for controlling a seat bolster of a vehicle and a method for controlling the same. The seat bolster controlling apparatus according to the present invention, seat bolsters protrudes from both sides of a seat cushion and a seatback. A body pressure distribution sensor is provided at the seat cushion to measure a body pressure of a passenger. When a traveling vehicle equipped with the above-mentioned components is turning, the body pressure distribution sensor measures a body pressure distribution of the passenger, and a controller operates a valve to provide air to a seat bolster positioned at an increasing direction of the body pressure on the basis of the measured value. The protruding degree of the corresponding seat bolster is more than the protruding degree of the seat bolster at an initial state, so that a body of the passenger inclined to one direction can be rapidly supported. When a vehicle is turning during driving, a driver can maintain close contact with the seat so that the driver can drive the vehicle with correct posture. Furthermore, costs can be reduced since it is not necessary to use expensive sensors for the control of seat bolster. |
