A mixture comprises one or more amino acids dispersed in a polymer wherein the polymer is selected from a hydrophobic polymer or protein. The dispersion helps to stabilise amino acids such as creatine, glutamine, valine, leucine and isoleucine. The dispersion may be carried out using pressure and mixing, particularly extrusion. The hydrophobic polymer may be ethyl cellulose, methyl cellulose, polyvinylpyrrolidone or polylactic polyglycolic acid. The protein may be gelatin, milk protein or whey protein. In preferred examples creatine or glutamine is mixed with ethyl cellulose and extruded. The dispersed amino acids may be used in non dairy or dairy milk drinks. |
