PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric compressor which reduces manufacturing cost and can be used for heating without lowering a temperature of a compressed refrigerant. SOLUTION: The electric compressor 1,100 includes: a housing 21; a compressing mechanism 7 provided in the housing 21 for compressing the refrigerant sucked into the housing 21; and an electric motor 6 provided in the housing 21 for driving the compressing mechanism 7, wherein a discharge chamber 11 into which the refrigerant compressed by the compressing mechanism 7 is discharged is formed in the housing.
