The circuit (10) has a transmission circuit for transmission of a signal through a potential barrier. Capacitive working transmission units (80, 90) with a capacitive coupling provided between potential sides comprise ON transmission branches (82) and OFF transmission branches (83). The capacitive coupling is formed between the potential sides. Two branches of the signal rest directly at an input of the ON transmission branches and against the OFF transmission branches over an inverter (INV1). An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a drive circuit.
